【 Good news 】 Congratulations to Professor Shi Qi, the first inventor of Qi She Tablets, who won the title of "National Medical Master"

On July 20, the fourth "Chinese Medical Master" and the second National Famous Chinese Medicine Commendation Conference were jointly held by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the National Health Commission and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Professor Shi Qi, the inventor of Qishe Tablets, was awarded the "Chinese Medical Master".

The selection of "TCM Master" was officially launched in 2008, and was selected from TCM (including ethnic medicine) personnel engaged in clinical work in the national TCM system. The shortlisted "TCM Master" are provincial famous TCM or national old TCM experts' academic experience inheritance instructors. They engaged in TCM clinical or herb processing, identification and other TCM clinical use related work for more than 50 years. They still adhere to clinical work, with rich experience and skilled. Their theoretical attainments of traditional Chinese medicine are profound, their academic achievements are outstanding, their academic thoughts and technical experience are unique, and they have made great achievements in inheriting and cultivating heirs, and have made outstanding contributions to the development of traditional Chinese medicine.

Introduction of Professor Shi Qi

Shi Qi, born in 1937, tenured professor of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, doctoral supervisor, director of Expert Committee of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, chief expert of National Clinical Research Base of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th batch of national traditional Chinese medicine experts academic experience inheritance instructor, Shanghai's 1st session famous traditional Chinese medicine. He served as the 3rd and 4th Vice President of the Chinese Society of Chinese Medicine, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd president of the Bone Injury Branch of the Chinese Society of Chinese Medicine, the 5th and 6th president of the Shanghai Society of Chinese Medicine, and honorary Professor of the University of Hong Kong.

Shi Qi was born in a family of traditional Chinese medicine. After graduating from Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1963, he was assigned to work in the orthopedic department of Longhua Hospital. He successively worshipped Mr. Shi Xiaoshan and Mr. Shi Youshan in the Department of Trauma as his teacher and became a representative inhertor of the fourth generation of Shanghai Shi's orthopedic Department and the national intangible cultural heritage "Traditional Chinese Bone Therapy".

With the increase of China's aging population, from the 1990s, according to the characteristics and advantages of traditional Chinese medicine, and summing up his many years of clinical experience. He took the lead in putting forward the concept of "chronic sinew disease" and formulating prevention and control strategies, advocating the "holistic view of treatment", forming the "internal regulation of Qi and blood in organs to peace, external regulation of muscles and bones to balance", the double regulation method as mentioned above. And a series of internal treatment experience with " Three steps nine method to nurse tendons and bones ", "Shi's twelve characters health methods" and other external treatment methods, achieved significant clinical efficacy, reduced the rate of surgical treatment which get the promotion by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the country.

After years of clinical practice and experimental research, Professor Shi Qi has cooperated with Shanghai Sundise Traditional Chinese Medicine Co., Ltd on the development concept of "creation", "focus" and "cooperation", committed to the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine. They combined traditional Chinese medicine with modern science, academic thought, culture and technology, in order to make innovative breakthroughs in traditional Chinese medicine theory. With "harmonizing Qi and blood" as the basic treatment method, combined with Shengyu Decoction and Fangji Huangqi Decoction, it was added and subtraction. Based on the dialectical treatment theory of Shi's traumatology department which is "focusing on Qi, taking blood as the first, taking phlegm and blood stasis into consideration" and the modern immune mechanism theory was also used. Qishe pill was developed, a Chinese medicine for the treatment of cervical spondylosis, which was also called "China's anti-inflammatory painkiller" by Western people. 

Since the beginning of basic research on Qishe pill, the long-term close cooperation with domestic research institutes was processed. By the in-depth basic research on it, the mechanism of action was clear. 249 relevant papers was published, total impact factor reach 129 points (5 of them reach 8 points or above), 43 SCI, ISTP included 29. Qishe Pill has won numerous awards, including: the first prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award (2007), the National New Drug Certificate (2009), and the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award (2011).

Professor Shi Qi has realized the innovation-driven development of traditional Chinese medicine. He has won the Shanghai Model Worker, Shanghai Model of teach and Education, Shanghai Medical Development Lifetime Achievement Award, Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Development Lifetime Achievement Award, Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Development Outstanding Contribution Award, Special Contribution Award of Orthopaedic Branch of Shanghai Medical Association, Shanghai's first "Light of Medical Ethics" Award, the National Bone Injury Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the first Special Contribution Award of Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance, the National Good Teacher satisfied by the Party and the people, the "Good Doctor of China", the National Teaching Master of Traditional Chinese medicine colleges and universities, titles to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and other honorary.
